Now that the big game hunting seasons are over – and if you were successful – it’s a good time to consider entering our Club’s Big Game Awards Competition. Permanent trophies (that you may have noticed on the Club’s fireplace mantle) and keeper trophies are awarded each year at our Annual General Meeting, which is Feb. 23 this year.
These awards are to recognize big game animals taken by Club members during the previous calendar year. All you need to enter is to be a member in good standing during last year’s hunting season. Categories not only include Vancouver Island deer weight and antler scores (as measured by the Boone & Crockett scoring system), but also any other species of big game taken in the province. Various Junior hunter and archery-taken categories are also up for grabs.
If you were successful in last year’s hunting season for a big game animal taken anywhere in BC, please consider entering the competition.
Please contact me for more information on how to enter.
