Welcome to the Nanaimo Fish and Game Club Big Game Committee page.
Please contact me with any requests for information related to big game hunting or management – on Vancouver Island or anywhere else in the Province. I will do my best to obtain whatever information you are seeking and get back to you as quickly as possible.
And don’t forget to consider entering our annual big buck competition, where prizes are awarded for both the heaviest and largest-antlered Vancouver Island deer. Deer can be weighed in (rules allow the inclusion of edible organs, i.e. heart, liver and kidneys) either by Caretaker John at the clubhouse, or at my residence. Contact me directly for scoring of antlers.
As both a Wildlife Records Club of BC, and Boone and Crockett scorer, I can also provide any information related to the scoring of any trophy taken in North America.
I can be reached by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at: 250-390-3951.
Request for big game by-products to be used as ‘whole foods’ for pets:
The Club has received a request from a local woman looking for animal by-products (rib cages, trim, bones, lower legs, organ meats, etc.) from hunter-killed animals that she might use – and share with like-minded folks in town – to produce “whole foods” for their pets. If you are fortunate enough to harvest an animal this fall, please consider donating some or all of your by-products for this purpose. You could also save yourself a trip to the landfill in the process as she has indicated that she will pick up any donations. Please contact Lisa at email@example.com
