The Annual General meeting of the Nanaimo & District Fish & Game Protective Association will be held on Sunday February 27, 2022 starting at 10:00 am in the Multipurpose Building.
The agenda will include the election of an Executive Board of Directors for the new year, a financial report for the previous year, and all other business of the Society.
There will be two Special Resolutions as follows:
Special Resolution #2022-1
SPECIAL RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES
A 2/3 vote of eligible members in good standing, present at the meeting, is needed to pass this resolution.
Whereas:
- The Nanaimo & District Fish & Game Protective Association has not increased the membership dues since 2016, and
- During that period, and especially during the last two years living under the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the income of the club has decreased and all the fixed expenses of the club have increased to the point that the current dues are not sufficient to continue operating and meet our expenses, and
- The Caretaker’s residence must be replaced in the immediate future,
The Officers and Directors of the Nanaimo & District Fish and Game Protective Association (the “Society”) propose to change the annual membership dues to:
- $230 for a Family Membership,
- $200 for an Adult Membership,
- $180 for a Senior Membership.
THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED AS A SPECIAL RESOLUTION OF THE SOCIETY that the approved dues rates will go into effect immediately.
Special Resolution #2022-2
SPECIAL RESOLUTION TO BORROW MONEY FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW CARETAKERS RESIDENCE
A 2/3 vote of eligible members in good standing, present at the meeting, is needed to pass this resolution.
Whereas:
- The current residence of the Nanaimo & District Fish & Game Protective Association caretaker is now estimated to be over 100 years old, and
- The building has deteriorated to such an extent that it cannot be cost effectively repaired and is no longer fit to be used as a residence for the caretaker,
The Officers and Directors of the Nanaimo & District Fish and Game Protective Association (the “Society”) propose to enter into a mortgage for the purchase of a new caretaker’s residence within the calendar year of 2022.
THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED AS A SPECIAL RESOLUTION OF THE SOCIETY that the membership approved this undertaking.
